Burlap Bulletin Board
I needed a quick and easy way to stick up notes or mail that was in view to remind me to run an errand, pay a bill, or leave a message. Then I saw a burlap bulletin board that looked like a fun project to make and it would solve my message board problem. If it is not out in sight, I forget things easily but I hate stacking bills and announcements on my desk or table. This would work for me!
Time: 1 Hours Cost: $2 Difficulty: Easy
I looked for a damaged or scratched inexpensive picture frame at the local department store and picked one up for $2.00. You cannot beat that price! Usually I shop at the Dollar Tree or other Dollar stores for frames, but I happened to be in a super center and picked this one.
I folded the burlap and laid it across the backboard of the picture frame to measure the burlap size and measure how many "pockets" I wanted. It was easy to attach the burlap on the back once I had laid out all the pieces and decided on the number. Then I just cut burlap to fit and attached it.
Here is a close up to show the pockets and how easily I can slip mail or notes in the pockets or even use pins to tack notes on it. There are a total of 4 pockets. All this with left over burlap from Christmas decor and a scratched picture frame.
I covered the frame scratches with furniture markers that repair furniture scratches. You cannot see them even if you know where they were located. This was a fun and easy project, but too late for the material project. It saves me a messy desk and puts the information in my sight where I will remember to take care of each one.
Materials used for this project:
- Burlap (on hand or Walmart or Amazon)
- Frame (Department store damaged sale)
- Stapler (On hand or department store)
