Easy No Expense Vanity

My friend is always finding curb side free furniture. She is a business manager, but working with her hands is relaxing to her. To me it is hard work, but she enjoys repairing and finding a second practical use for discarded items. Her friends often call her if they plan to put their old furniture out on the curb for her free pickup.

I apologize I do not have this table and stool before she started to restore them. It was simply a table in bad need of paint and the stool a new cover. She had blue material on hand and foam to re-stuff and cover the stool. From that she found her inspiration. She has added glitter to paint long before it became available and pre-glittered at the home improvement stores.

She also found a mirror in need of painting and covered it with glitter paint to match the table and blue glittery material on the stool. She also glued a small garland around the edge of the mirror to give it a little more bling.

This small farm table was perfect for the vanity but lacked drawers. An old lamp table with drawers or 2 drawer file cabinet could be added on one side or the other and painted to match for more storage. The table is large enough for most cosmetics and hair brushes and electric curlers.

A closer shot of the paint her shows the glitter in the paint a little bit. What a great idea for a cheerful, shiny vanity. This would delight any teen girl or mom on a tight budget. Anyone in need of a vanity an a little time could make one for themselves or loved one, or even for them self!

  • Wood stool   (curb)
