How to Create a Romantic Table for 2 on a Budget
If you’re like my husband and me and don’t like going out or spending a ton of money on Valentine’s Day to enjoy a romantic dinner together, you might like these tips! Here’s how I create a romantic dinner table for two at home on a budget.
Time: 1 Hours Cost: $20 Difficulty: Easy
While my hubby and I love sneaking out on date nights whenever we can, we don’t like crowds or paying blown-up prices for a dinner on Valentine’s Day.
Also, here is a great solution to at home date nights anytime of the year.
1: Use a smaller table for an intimate feel
For this fancy dinner, I draped what looks like a gauzy table runner over the table – but it’s actually an inexpensive sheer curtain panel!
2: Make your own centerpiece with grocery store flowers & faux greenery
I bought some inexpensive roses, sweat peas and baby’s breath at the grocery store and then combined them with some faux greenery from the craft store to create a beautiful but affordable floral arrangement. Using flowers as a centerpiece will make your setting feel extra special, and they smell great! The faux greenery is a simple way to save some money but make the arrangement feel more full.
3: Spray paint candle holders to match your cutlery
Fancy coloured cutlery also helps make a setting feel fancy, and matching candlesticks is the icing on the cake! This rose gold cutlery was an inexpensive grocery store find, and I painted these thrift store candles in the same colour to add some glam to this tablescape.
4: Make easy linen napkins
There’s something so beautiful looking (and feeling!) about a real linen napkin, and they’re easy to make if you can’t find any to buy. Click here to see my tutorial on how to make these simple but lovely linen napkins. Leftovers from my grocery store flowers & fake greenery look pretty but romantic tied around the napkins with some rustic twine.
