Valentines Day a Little Corny Gift

My wife ask for nothing for Valentines Day because no cash was available. So me doing what I do best I made something a little special. Hearts and Arrows - Tic Tac Toe

Time: 3 Days Cost: $12 Difficulty: Medium

Start off with a 3/4" x 6" pine board, cut list is as follows

4 pcs. 3/4" x 3/4" x 12"

1 pc. Luan 11 3/4" x 11 3/4"

4 pcs. 1/8" x 1/8" for the partitions

The cut the arrows and hearts according

• 

1/8" x 11 3/4" x 11 3/4" square - choice the side of your choice

• 

This is your partitions for the Hearts and arrows, which you cut into size and fit according within the square after assembly. I usually use 3 different stains so it all stands out.

• 

I found these templates at Walmart. Using a bandsaw, or scrollsaw cut this pieces out carefully. Sand the pieces the way you want them to look

• 

Again use 2 different stains for the Hearts and the Arrows. Have fun, because you can use any templates you want.

• 

Your outcome will astonish you. I love the outcome, and of course my wife has seen this piece. I think it cute. don't forget you need to allow proper time for drying of stain and polyurethane.

Materials used for this project:

• Luan
• 3/4" x 6" pine or your choice
• Table saw
• Bandsaw
• Scrollsaw
• Minwax stain (your choice)
• Elmer's Glue
• 3/4" Brads to nail your frame at the corners
• Urethane (outside) polyurethane (inside)
