Bar Stand
This Bar Stand is made using simple, and rather old, wooden crates, old door. Wood sanded, painted, polished and transformed into the arts & crafts style bar stand.
Original wooden crates
Old cabinet's door is sanded, polished and finished with gloss protective layer.
Crates are assembled together by means of a simple metal brackets and screws from ACE. Legs are are made of rubber to ensure slip free standing.
Foot rest: Simple load hooks and long forgotten about curtain rails. Rails are sanded and dry brush painted with a golden pain for metals to give it a shabby chic look.
Stand paint works: First layer. Paint from IKEA or any other water based paints you wish to use. Method used: dry Brush. Let it dry. Living in Dubai, it only takes a minutes really as a layer of paint is very thin. Keep it that way as you will have to sand it off slightly later.
Stand paint work: Second Layer. Terracotta colour paint (specification and method are the same as described in STEP 1. No! I am not lazy, but brevity is...... well. you know...). And again. Keep it
Stand paint work: Third and the Final Layer. White paint (specification and method are the same as described in STEP 1), just to add that French shabby chic rustic feel.
Now, get a sand paper block ( i used both fine and rough, depends on the layer of paint you used and the final look you are trying to achieve), and make it look really worn out. Yes. All the effort to just shake it all off later... but it is worth the effort.
Close up of the finish
Adorn in any accessories you wish. Metal plates, stamps, picture ink transfers, this is is just up to your limitless imagination.
Couple of hand made stood by the local carpenter, and we are OPEN! :)
