DIY Kitchen Remodel
My husband and I remodeled our kitchen together - by ourselves - and we are still married!

When we first moved into our home, our kitchen was dark and closed off. It did not function well for our family or entertaining. Also, the appliances were old and original to the house.
I painted the cabinets to make the space feel more like us, and that helped us love the kitchen as much as possible for the next four years. However, it got the to point that our appliances were not working. In order to replace the appliances, we were going to have to remove cabinets. Suddenly it had become a large project, and we decided to demo the space and completely redo the space - DIY style!
Last fall, we invited a bunch of friends over for a morning of tearing out the kitchen. In just a couple hours, our kitchen was demolished. We panicked for a bit and then got right to work.
We began by assembling the cabinets and spent all of our evenings and weekends for a couple months rebuilding the space.
The space was slowly rebuilt into a gorgeous kitchen that functions well for our family.
We have a much more open floor plan and appliances that actually work!
