Handmade Paper Succulents

Hi everyone!!

I can't wait to start telling you about this little paper project.

I don't know if you noticed but succulents have made a huge come back, perhaps due to the Farmhouse look frenzy that dominates every Interior decorating page on the net. My succulents are fool proof and will never EVER dry out, promise.

Going back to basics here, this time I want to show you a step by step tutorial on how to make pretty paper succulent plants using nothing but paper, scissors and some paint so here we go!!

Simply print*, cut out and trace different size leafs for your succulent on the coloured paper of your choice, I recommend it is cardstock grade paper to make it easier when bending the paper.

I actually printed only one page and then the printer stopped working so I multiplied them by drawing them by hand directly on the cardstok paper. I made four different size leafs per plant, as seeing here.

I then cut my leafs out one by one and shaped them using a round pencil ( not those fancy hexagonal ones from school) applying pressure to the paper pointing towards the sharp ends with my fingers, common sense right?

I then glued my leafs on a layered manner from large to small leafs and coloured them using some dry* watercolor paint but that is optional.

I made several ones in earthy tones for this project and ended up with a very handsome bouquet, if you ask me...

Dry* watercolour painting is when very little water is applied to brush and then colour is picked from the puck of paint allowing the paint to dry extremely quickly without damaging the paper.

For this "brighter" look I used a gorgeous blue color cardstock paper and I used the same exact technique as above, here are the images for the process if its of anymore value toyou.
